Now and Zen

Now and Zen is influenced by the decorative detail and cultural value of pottery in historical and present day  China. The strong linear quality was first explored in the Northern Song dynasty, specifically the Chizhou region, and often contained narrative images that revealed the socio-political and religious environment of the 800 year old dynasty.

 

The Song Dynasty was a rebirth of the arts and the rising middle class became interested in daily utilitarian objects to enhance  and enrich their lifestlye .

 

I have combined handwritten quotes by inspirational  peace leaders to remind us of the positive and focus our attention on issues that  contribute and promote healthy living in a fast paced world that forgets the basics of being human and sharing the planet with other living creatures. Mother Teresa is one of my favorite peace activists.
